Meet the Artists

 Meet Becky Yohe

Instructor

A native Floridian, Becky and her family moved to Lakeland in the summer of 2014.  Growing up, her mom was a teacher and her father was an artist.  As a young girl, Becky worked and helped her dad in his antique store and stained glass studio (Old South Stained Glass) in the small central Florida town of Eustis.  In college, she studied and majored in Studio Art with an emphasis on ceramics.   Soon after college, Becky got  married and began her career as an ACSI certified art teacher at a private school in south Florida where she had the  privilege of teaching kids grades K-12, and loved it!

Once her first child came along, Becky and her family made the commitment for her to stay home and enjoy being a mom. Over time, she has done commission work, taught private art lessons, and began to teach adult painting classes in the evenings for various well known businesses.

Becky loves art in all its forms and has a growing passion to share it with others. She is excited to encourage creativity at Art Centric Studio and looks forward to seeing you soon!

Meet Kaki Clements

Instructor

A newly minted Lakeland-er, Kaki grew up just over the state line in Valdosta, GA, where she was constantly surrounded by artists of all disciplines. Though she initially gravitated toward the stage, Kaki spent countless hours watching and working with her mom to build and paint sets for all of her plays and dance recitals. Her love of art followed her into college at The University of Alabama where Kaki studied Theatre and Public Relations while working as an arts advocacy intern (Creative Campus) to bring public art to the City of Tuscaloosa.

After college, Kaki moved to Atlanta, GA where she worked in a pottery studio and discovered a love of Studio Art. She has experience in pottery, painting, printmaking, and has a passion for helping people to break out of their day-to-day norm by unleashing their creativity. When she’s not helping you to live your creative dreams at Art Centric, Kaki works as a professional actress performing for audiences across the country.

Meet Deanna Hernandez

Instructor

Even though she was born in the great state of New York, she was raised near the beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico. Papers, crayons, and paint would be her go to when she was small where she would make colorful drawings, stories and pretended to be a teacher to her dolls. As a young adult, she studied to be a teacher with a focus in Visual Arts. Her passion for art and people became her job for many years, helping kids of all ages to experience art and get to know their talents.

Now she is working in her new career as an artist and is looking forward to seeing you in the studio to awake the artist that’s inside of you.
